Wetplate Collodion Day Workshop 1:1

1:1 workshops are tailor-made to the experience and interests of the individual. Unless otherwise discussed, workshops will take place at a venue in North Devon or Cornwall. The workshop date can be arranged to suit, if you have a particular date in mind, please contact me prior to payment.

Discover the origins of wet plate photography and its role in shaping visual history, gain insight into the equipment and materials used in this 19th-century process, learn about the chemicals, how to handle them and work safely in the darkroom under expert guidance, create your own stunning glass plate ambrotypes, from preparing the plate to developing and varnishing the final image.

Opotunities to create 6-8 unique plates, including portraits and still-life compositions, take home your original plates—each one a one-of-a-kind piece of art and access to post-workshop resources and ongoing communication to support your continued exploration of wet plate photography.

No prior experience is necessary.
